This video was created as part of the Skyline Stories (now Buildings of Chicago) project for the Chicago Architecture Foundation. This series was a look at 10 iconic buildings in downtown Chicago. For each building, Zero One created videos which spoke to FORM, design PROCESS, historical CONTEXT, and STORY, for a total of 40 videos for the project. This video is the “Prcoess” video for Willis Tower.

Zero One created a variety of video pieces for Chicago History Museum’s: Ebony Fashion Fair, an exhibit which told the history of Ebony Magazine’s Fashion Fair. This video was part of an installation which told the story of the John, Johnson, the Johnson Publishing Company and the creation of Ebony Magazine. This video was projected onto a corporate boardroom table, in which 5 people could sit around the table to watch the video at their seats. We researched the history, developed a story treatment and wrote a script based on John Johnson’s autobiography. We directed a voice actor to narrate the video as John Johnson himself.

A long-time client, The MacArthur Foundation asked us to create a video to help launch a new initiative to strengthen inclusive Journalism in Chicago. The Jack Fuller Initiative features three important Chicago journalism organizations: Vocolo Radio at WBEZ, Free Spirit Media, and City Bureau. We created a video that tells us why this program is important, a sense of the work being supported and being as inclusive in the diversity of voices represented by this initiative.
